Hello everyone! Merry Christmas! Hope everyone is having a great holiday, even with all this snow. I havent been on here for a bit, but have been a little busy. I made some goodies for our christmas that we had yesterday. luckily we made it home safe. It was horrible out.
Well this is what ive been doing. Last week i made a graduation cake for a girl i know. She did online schooling and also was working. What a great accomplishment!
Then my niece wanted me to make some cookies for her class. We made these cookies that are called http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes.aspx/chocolate-peanut-butter-cookie-treats/abcb3f34-a1ac-4c09-985e-95c45ec82a08. i dont have a pic of them. but they were very good. We made them a little different because i didnt have any pb dough on hand. So we made the peanut butter cookies from another recipe from here http://www.hersheys.com/recipes/recipes/detail.asp?id=5191 and we used the coating recipe from the first link.
Then for christmas, i wanted to try some new things. I made some butter cookies(not pictured), they turned out pretty good. the recipe is from pamperd chef, good recipe, dont like the trigger cookie press. I also made a pumpkin roll(yummy!) and shepards pie for my dad. We had a good christmas, now are just waiting for the new year. http://www.verybestbaking.com/recipes/detail.aspx?ID=32372 is the pumpkin roll recipe.

Hi everyone! Hope everyone has been doing well with all this snow, if you are dealing with it that is. We got quite a bit, some drifts that were from 3ft - 6 ft around the house and in the front yard. I always think its looks neat until you have to try and get out in it. We were home from Monday evening til Thursday. It's hard being cooped up and not leaving the house and now i think im catching a cold. Blaahhh.
I did do a little baking yesterday. Didnt feel super good, but got cookies made and a cake baked and decorated by this morning. I was really pleased with the cake. and they also liked it too.

Hello everyone. Hope everyone is having a great weekend and are staying warm. Pictured below is most of the goodies that i made and decorated over the last couple days. Decorating sure takes a bit of time to do, but i like being creative with it. I wanted to note that on the xmas cupcakes with the candy canes on them are sugar cookies decorated with royal icing. I also had made some rice krispie treats and some cinnamon streusel muffins for the fundraiser too. I hope it went well for them today. Have a good rest of the weekend everyone!

They are also making other things for it too like bbq pork sandwiches and stuff. I hope they do great! Have more things coming up, another open house 2 birthday cakes and a graduation cake. Im excited that things are going well with the progress of trying to get somewhere with decorating. Will keep you all updated!
Hi everyone. i made this dolphin cake for a friend of mine that just loves dolphins. She really liked it. i tried to make the frosting look like water with waves in it. and the dolphins on the side and on top are made out of mmf. I have more work ahead of me with working with fondant. especially with trying to make things look smooth and good.

This is my first cake that i ever covered in fondant. Marshmellow Fondant. I made it myself using a recipe i found on the internet. i think i did pretty good for my first time making and covering a cake. i know its just a little one, but i'm still proud of myself. i took it along with the other cake for her to see and to have a choice. She went with both things. main wedding cake using the mmf and then sheet cakes using my buttercream frosting. So Awesome!!!!
these pics are the sample tier that i took to show the girl today. she liked it! and it was even prettier with the flowers that my friend added to it.

Hey everyone. My week will be a little busy. I made this very pretty birthday cake for a little girl named Emily. She really liked it, thought it was very pretty. I was pretty happy with it, except, i know i need more practice with my roses. I was also disappointed that the roses turned out darker than i wanted. The other roses in the picture looks blue, but they were a violet color. I even took a picture with the flash and those pictures still make them look blue. Oh well, the important thing is , is that the birthday girl liked it.
I also am kinda nervous. I am going to be meeting with a girl on thursday to show her a sample of a tier of the cake she wants for her wedding. I hope she likes what she sees and also likes how it tastes. (i will post pics of it later this week.) I am also going to be making stuff for my one sister, for a party that she's having and some stuff for a open house that i'm going to be attending this sat. I will, also, be making cream horns for my friend for her to take to her families house for Thanksgiving. I hope i get everything done, then i'll take a little break.

My sister got me a spot in a silent auction that is going on at my near by town. So i made some pretty winter time sugar cookies. I know its not even Thanksgiving yet, but i really wanted to make some snowflake cookies and use my new sprinkles. I hope whoever gets them enjoys them.

Hello everyone! My cupcakes turned out really good that i made for the little girl to take to her school. She just loved them when she seen them. It made me happy, hope everyone enjoys them at her school.

I also ventured more in the pastry area and made some cream puffs today. ive never had them before and they are good. the shell and filling is a recipe from my grandma. the filling is custard i discovered. Had never made it before and the recipe dont say what kind of filling it is. These are so easy to make, but they take a while to make, but well worth it.

these are from a different silicone pan in the shape of pumpkins and the one in the lower right is from a silicone pan that is made to make snowflakes, but i thought it was more fitting to make a spider in a web for now.
and i scooped out a little from the middle and added cream cheese. the stem and the vines are also cream cheese. i just dyed it.

This is what the pan makes
this is the new pan that my sister got me from avon. i used my own pumpkin bar recipe and the philidelphia cream cheese recipe. i think they turned out good.

well the other day i tried a new recipe. making cream horns. the crust is from a box, but the filling is made from scratch. i coated the cones with an eggwash then topped it with raw sugar. they smelled good and tasted yummy too.

Hi everyone! I had a great weekend. I went garage selling on Saturday and also had a bday cake to make for a friend of mines daughter. I found a few things at the garage sales that i needed and some things that i thought i needed. lol. Later i decorated the birthday cake. It was a hit at the party. It was a webkinz theme and the cake was carrot with cream cheese frosting. If you notice on the computer monitor u can see a pic with the webkinz on that. Everyone thought that was cool. I printed off a pic from the webkinz website and put it on the monitor. It tasted very good, i know that cause we were also invited to the party as well. Hope everyone else had a great weekend too.

Here are my pretty flower cupcakes. Sorry the pic is a little blurry. At the event, i had about 4 or 5 kids ask me if they were real cupcakes. lol. i thought that was funny.

While making goodies for the event, i had some leftover brownie mix and created this. i dont know what to call it. i think i labeled it oreo bottom brownie or something like that. it is brownie with broken up pieces of oreos on the bottom, its mostly covered in ganache and then sprinkled with crushed oreo cookies(w/out the cream) What was surprising was that it wasnt very rich, but it was very good. would be awesome to have a dallop or 2 of ice cream or whip topping on it Yummmm!

Hello everyone. i have been been busy a little bit, had a couple cakes to make for over the weekend, plus had an event to go to for selling some of my goodies and promoting my business. I had a good time at the event. I got 2 cake orders. yeah!!! I made a birthday cake for a friend of mine and also a house warming cake. I, for some reason, cannot find the house warming cake, but a friend of mine took a picture of it, so when i get it from her i will put it on here, but here is the picture of the birthday cake. Annie and her family really enjoyed it.

In my last blog, i wrote about the new brownie pan i got. made some brownies and they turned out pretty good. i added some goodies to most of the brownies like reeces pieces, reeces pb cups-broken up, broken up pieces of cookies and cream kisses, mini m&m's and white chips. they didnt turn out exactly how i was thinking but they still were good. i also added some of my homemade french vanilla ice cream on top of a few of the as well and then topped it off with the hardshell that i had made. that was a great combination, very yummy!
